Proofreading and copyediting rates in the UK vary depending on the type of work, the number of words, and the level of intervention required.
Rates for my work are calculated according to each job and are in line with the suggested minimum rates recommended by the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
To provide you with a quote and a copy of my terms and conditions, it would be helpful if you could provide me with the following:
- subject matter and type of document (self-help book, company report, pet advice leaflet, clinical paper)
- word count
- format (Word document (alterations would be made using Track Changes), pdf
- preferred submission and completion dates (a pressing deadline and a quick turnaround may attract a higher fee)
- a representative sample of the work (approximately 5-10%) from a section in the middle of the work
- what level of service you require
